Linda Nell Hiberd

Born: November 26, 1939
Died: October 13, 2013

On the morning of Sunday, October 13, 2013 another angel was given her wings. Linda Nell McCoy Hiberd, age 73, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus at her home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Hiberd was born November 26, 1939 in Paris, Texas the daughter of Hale and Lorene McCoy. She married the love of her life, James Douglas Hiberd May 30, 1957 in Durant, Oklahoma. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. But her most cherished person was her husband, James; they recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary together. Her life was a true testimony of what it means to be a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her passing leaves a void in so many lives, but her indomitable spirit will dwell in our hearts forever.
She leaves behind her loving family, husband of 56 years, James Douglas Hiberd of Denison, TX, son, James Anthony Hiberd and wife, Melissa, of Arkansas, daughters, Vita Ortega and Kathy Dennis and husband, Keith all of Denison, TX, eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, brother, Benny McCoy and sister, Sadie Schultz. Linda was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jerry Don Hiberd, parents, Hale and Lorene McCoy, sister, Dorothy Waldrop and foster daughter, Deedrea Vargas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Rev. Raymond England officiating. Interment will follow in Oakridge Cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Fisher Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Leslie Pruit, Jeremy Strand, Mike Riddick, Mark Williams, Phillip Dennis and Brandon Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be DJ Shields, Christopher Erickson and Aaron Miller.
The family wants to thank Heart to Heart Hospice staff for their compassionate love and care, and all of their friends for the prayers, food, phone calls, visits and being there for us all through this trying time. It wasn’t an easy road, but somehow you were always here for our family. We love you all.
